Issue Details

Does the relay position indicator shown in the Soft Front Panel of an NI Switch device reflects the normal or default position of the physical relay?

Solution

The relay position indicator in the NI Switch Soft Front Panel does not represent the default or normal position of the physical relay. Instead, it displays the current position of the relay based on the connections configured through the Channels, Schematic, or Independent Schematic tabs or through user code.

The default position of the relay is shown in the block diagram of the NI Switch device and applies only when the device is powered off or not in use. Once the hardware is powered on, the relay position will reflect the active configuration as indicated in the Soft Front Panel.
