Loading DewesoftX File on DIAdem With Dewesoft7 DataPlugIn

I'm working with a DewesoftX .dxd file but unable to import it using the Dewesoft7 DataPlugIn. The following error message appears:

Solution

There is a workaround if there is no CAN channels required to be loaded:

  1. Download the DWDataReaderLib64.dll version 5.0.1 from the Dewesoft Developer Downloads page Developer downloads | Dewesoft.

  2. Create a backup of the existing DWDataReaderLib64.dll located at:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\USI\DataPlugins\DEWESoft7\

  3. Extract and copy the new DLL from:
    DWDataReader_v5_0_1.zip\binaries\DWDataReaderLib64.dll

  4. Replace the old DLL by pasting the new one into the same directory:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\USI\DataPlugins\DEWESoft7\

This update resolves compatibility issues when importing DewesoftX .dxd files using the Dewesoft7 DataPlugIn.

After replacing the DLL, an error may appear related to CAN channels. This is expected behavior—CAN channels were never supported in previous versions of the DataPlugIn, it's just that the errors were silent and now they're not.
