USRP B2xx USB Driver Not Recognized Automatically

Issue Details

When Installing UHD 4.8 using the installers for Windows 11, USB driver for USRP B series is not recognized automatically.

The device appears as Westbridge in Device Manager.

Solution

Note: This bug is resolved in UHD 4.9

This article assumes that UHD 4.8 was downloaded and installed using the Windows Installers in the link below.

Manually selecting the driver will resolve the issue.

After performing the steps below, the device will be automatically recognized even through reboots.

 

1. Open device Manager after connecting

2.Connect the USRP to your computer.

3.There should be a section "Other devices" => WestBridge.  Right click on it, select "Update Driver" => "Browse my Computer for Drivers"

4.Navigate to C:\Program Files\UHD\share\uhd, select folder "usbdriver" and press OK.

5.Wait till the process is finished, and check if "USRPs" section appears in the device manager

6.Disconnect and connect the USB cable, and check if "USRPs" section is automatically recognized in the device manager.

7. Run the commands below in cmd to make sure that UHD recognizes the device.

cd C:\Program Files\UHD\bin
uhd_find_devices
