No Application Was Found To Open That Type Of File Error Displayed When Opening a LabVIEW-Built EXE

Issue Details

I built an executable from a LabVIEW VI and opened it from a third-party application or from a Windows Command Prompt. Upon running the EXE, a popup displays with the message "The file <file path of the EXE> could not be opened. No application was found to open that type of file." However, when I press the OK button of the popup window, the EXE runs normally. Why does this popup window get displayed? How can I set LabVIEW not to display this popup?

Solution

When multi-byte characters such as Japanese text are used in the file name of the LabVIEW EXE, this pop up message is displayed. To mitigate this issue, rename the file so that all multi-byte characters from the LabVIEW EXE are removed.
