How Do I Select the USRP Resource in LabVIEW?

If you have a USRP device but the USRP Device resource is not selectable in LabVIEW, this article will guide you on how to select the USRP device in LabVIEW.

By default, the USRP device name does not appear in the LabVIEW VI. You must manually enter the correct device name in the 'Device Name' field to select the resource.

Steps to Perform:

  1. To find out the device name of the USRP, navigate to the following folder path:  C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-USRP\Utilities
  2. Launch the USRP-utils application as indicated in the Red Box:

  1. The NI-USRP Configuration Utility will be launched, take note of the Device ID here, in this example which is 192.168.10.2

  1. Key in the following IP Address in the Devices Name as illustrated and you will be able to connect the USRP with LabVIEW for interfacing.
