Issue Details

I want to use sbRIO-9628 as scan engine mode, not FPGA interface mode. And he is also interested in using CAN FD port via XNET API at host side, so I'm wondering if this kind of utilization is available or not. Where can I find latest support coverage by scan engine mode toward cRIO or sbRIO family product line-up?

Solution

For the CAN port on sbRIO it is not possible to use that interface VIA scan mode or as XNET. If XNET can is needed, the customer will need to purchase the board only CAN module and utilize the 2 slot C Series RMC card, or design their own PCB with the C Series slots going to the C Series connector and plug the XNET module in there.

We wanted to target that CAN port as a lower cost option for CAN due to most customers not needing it. The FPGA interface only option provided a lower cost and smaller PCB size way to do this.
