An Internal Error Occurred in the NI MAX and the Page Cannot be Loaded

Issue Details

I am using NI MAX to check my NI system information. When I select the PXIe controller in NI MAX, I am getting the following error. This error only appear when the Windows Display Language is non English.

An Internal Error Occurred in the NI MAX and the Page Cannot be Loaded

Windows Display Language: Chinese (Simplified)

Windows Display Language: German

Windows Display Language: Japanese

Solution

There are three approaches to resolve this issue:

Approach 1: Download and Install PXI Platform Services 2025 Q3 and Above

This is the recommended approach. This bug has been resolved in PXI Platform Service 2025 Q3 and above. The installer can be downloaded using this link.

Approach 2: Change Windows Display Language to English

1. Navigate to Language
   • In Windows 10, navigate to Settings >> Time & Language >> Language
   • In Windows 11, navigate to Settings >> Time & language >> Language & region
2. In the Windows Display Language section, select English from the drop-down menu

Approach 3: Update the Incorrect Configuration File

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\uixml\sysconfig
2. Locate the file with the following filename structure: nipxi.System.const.XX.xml
    
3. Open each of the XML files with your preferred text editor, such as Notepad++.
4. For each of the XML files, insert <uistrings> into line 2 and save the file.  
5. Restart the system, and the issue is resolved.

You may download the zip file from the Attachment section below and move the XML files in it to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\uixml\sysconfig to accomplish Approach 3 too.

Additional Information

This issue is caused by a bug exists only in PXI Platform Services driver version 2024 Q4, 2025 Q1 and 2025 Q2.
