Issue Details

I am using compactRIO chassis cRIO-9047. For stable system operation, I try to use some temperature sensor and monitor the temperature when cRIO system is running.

What should I pay attention to for more effective temperature measurement in this regard?

Solution

The manual contains information about the temperature range in which the device can operate satisfactorily even under heavy loads. For example, the cRIO-9047 specifications state this in the Environmental Characteristics section.

Additionally, the user manual document describes the appropriate area for measuring the ambient temperature outside the chassis. For the cRIO 9047, please refer to this document.

Additional Information

You may think that FPGA I/O channel can provide temperature information. Note that this is not the temperature of a specific component such as the CPU or FPGA, this is just for measuring an internal ambient temperature.
