Yes, all PXIe-8862 models support SSD upgrades. However, the method of access and the type of SSD used vary depending on the model. There are two types of configurations: models with removable drives and models with non-removable drives.
Removable drive models are equipped with a 2.5-inch U.2 PCIe SSD, which can be accessed and replaced directly from the front panel without removing the controller from the chassis. On the other hand, non-removable drive models use an internal M.2 2280 NVMe SSD. In this case, the controller must be removed from the chassis to access and replace the drive.
It is important to note that the term “removable” refers specifically to the ability to remove the drive from the front panel. Regardless of the model, all PXIe-8862 variants have replaceable SSDs. This is clearly stated in both the Knowledge Base article and the Getting Started Guide.
