Issue Details

When using drag-and-drop to load the .dat files in DIAdem, the variables appear as "no name". Why is this issue occur and how can I solve this issue?

Solution

This issue is often caused by DIAdem not selecting the correct Dataplugin when multiple plugins are configured to support the same file extension (e.g., .dat). To resolve this:

  1. Check Dataplugin Settings by going to Settings » Extensions » Dataplugin... and review the list of installed plugins. If multiple plugins support .dat files, DIAdem may not automatically choose the correct one during drag-and-drop.
  2. If multiple plugins support .dat files, use the Open File Dialog instead and manually select the correct file type.
For example, when opening DRIVE.dat from
C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\DIAdem 20xx\Data, make sure to select "DIAdem DAT File" from the file type dropdown list.
