System.NullReferenceException in Visual Studio 2019 with Measurement Studio 2019

Issue Details

I'm using Measurement Studio 2019 with Visual Studio 2019, and when trying to run a solution on the development environment and get the exception System.NullReferenceException: 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' This exception was originally thrown at this call stack NationalInstruments.Common at NationalInstruments.Internal.SlcHelper.d()

Solution

This is an expected behavior with the Measurment Studio installer. This issue won't affect applications outside of the debugger because the exception is caught. In order to resolve the issue is required to copy the keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/WOW6432Node/National Instruments/Measurement Studio to the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/National Instruments/Measurement Studio.
