NI MAX Crashes When Accessing Remote Systems

Issue Details

I am trying to modify the software and settings on my NI Linux Real-Time (RT) target through the NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). To do so, I navigate to the Remote Systems and open the drop-down list to display the available RT controllers on my network. However, every time I execute these steps, NI MAX crashes with the below error message, when looking for remote systems:

Exception: Access violation (0xC0000005) at EIP=0x5C874687

Solution

The behavior may occur if the NI MAX database file becomes corrupted. To resolve the problem, refer to the possible solutions below:

Try to reset the NI MAX database file.
If resetting the database file does not fix the issue, repair the NI MAX software.
Install a new version of NI MAX by upgrading the NI System Configuration software.
