Cannot set the Sample Rate on my C Series Devices

Issue Details

I want to acquire a signal under a specific sample rate. I am using one of the following devices:

  • NI 9252
  • NI 9253
  • NI 9218
  • NI 9470
  • NI 9230
  • NI 9250
  • NI 9202

However, the data acquired presents a different sample rate.

Is this an error from the driver? Or I am setting an incorrect sample rate. 

Solution

The NI 9252 device, similar to the other mentioned references, has a data rate discretionally derived from the Master Timebase Frequency and a Decimation Rate as explained in the getting started guide. 

For example: Setting the sample rate to 25000 Hz for the NI 9252 will show the real sample rate exactly the same as set. Other values outside of those mentioned in the getting started guide will be rounded to the nearest available value (for example, setting 48000 Hz will round to 50000 Hz).
