InstrumentStudio Is Unable to Detect Source Measure Unit (SMUs)

Issue Details

InstrumentStudio is unable to detect the SMUs, even though the compatible NI-DCPower driver is already installed. The modules do not appear as selectable options within InstrumentStudio, although they are correctly recognized and function as expected in LabVIEW.

 

Solution

Please ensure that you have followed all the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Test with latest version of NI-DCPower driver.
  2. Repair the InstrumentStudio installation.
  3. Upgrade InstrumentStudio to the latest version.
  4. Run InstrumentStudio as an administrator.
  5. Reset the NI MAX database.
  6. Review the Windows Event Viewer if errors found related to InstrumentStudio.
  7. If all step above does not work, reset the OS and install the NI-DCPower again. Reference: Reset your PC - Microsoft Support
