LabWindows™/CVI Online Function Help Button Is Greyed Out or Links to Wrong Page

Issue Details

In LabWindows/CVI, the Online Function Help feature <Ctrl-Shift-F1> may not work as expected for some libraries:

• The button may be greyed out or link to the welcome page instead of the specific function.
• Affected libraries do not have help/documentation available in the cvi.chm online help file, including NI-DAQmx, NI System Configuration, NI-IMAQdx, NI Vision, and NI-VXI. 

Meanwhile, some libraries e.g. VISA Library works fine - clicking Online Function Help works and help is available.

Solution

This is known behavior. As a workaround, you can find the Online Help files (.chm extension, Microsoft Compiled Help File) for each driver in their respective directory. 

Here are some examples of driver directories and respective Help files:

C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Help\NI-IMAQdx_Function_Reference.chm
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision\Help\NIVisionCSupport.chm
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\docs\cdaqmx.chm

Note that these directories can contain multiple help files. Separate Help files for both LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI (or C support, C reference) can be found.
