Driver

  • NI-DAQmx

Operating System

  • LabVIEW Real-Time (NI Linux Real-Time)

Issue Details

  • NI-DAQmx
    • DAQmx 2024 Q3.1 Patch 1
    • DAQmx 2024 Q4 Patch 1
    • DAQmx 2025 Q1 Patch 1

When either of the above mentioned NI-DAQmx version is installed on Windows host and the Linux RT target system is set up with the provided Linux RT System Image, the "Add Ethernet Device" and "Test Panel" functionality will be broken for the Linux RT target system due to the NI-DAQmx driver version mismatch between the Windows host and Linux RT target system.

Solution

Option 1:  Upgrading the NI-DAQmx Driver [Upgrade the Linux RT driver version to v25.3.1]

  1. Upgrade the NI-DAQmx driver in Windows host system to DAQmx 2025 Q2 Patch 1
  2. Re-setup the Linux RT target system with the provided Linux RT System Image with DAQmx 2025 Q2 Patch 1.

Option 2:  Using NI-DAQmx Offline Installer [Downgrade the Window driver version to v25.3.0]

  1. Go to NI-DAQmx download page in ni.com and select the "Install Offline" option.
  2. Choose the base version of the release instead of the patch. [eg. Select DAQmx 2025 Q1 and NOT DAQmx 2025 Q1 Patch 1]. Then, click the download button to download.
  3. On Windows host, proceed to uninstall the previous installed NI-DAQmx patch version and install with the downloaded baseline offline installer.
  4. Finally, re-setup the Linux RT target system with the provided Linux RT System Image.
