Configuring FlexNet Options File for Unmanaged Concurrent License Model

Issue Details

I am the software administrator for my institution and I'm using FlexNet Publisher to manage the volume license for NI software. All of the software licenses that we own are Unmanaged Concurrent license model. How can I configure Options File for LMTOOLS to ensure the Unmanage Concurrent licenses can be granted to everyone connected to the server.

Solution

While assigning and granting Non-Concurrent and Managed Concurrent licenses requires option file to be configured, Unmanage Concurrent license model does not require any. Since everyone connected to the server will be able to pull out the license, assigning and granting the license to specific user and/or host, or group is not needed.

Additional Information

Though the options file is not required to assign a license for an Unmanaged Concurrent License, you can still configure the options file to reserve the license for a specific user or to block a user from checking out the license.
