  • I download the LabVIEW drivers for my instruments, but when I use the VI(s), LabVIEW reported an error.
  • While I am in LabVIEW development environment, everything is working fine when I use the instrument drivers. However, when I create LabVIEW application, it runs into an error.

Solution

Instrument Driver Network (IDNet) is a platform provided by NI where users can find, download, or submit drivers to communicate with third-party instruments such as Agilent, Keithley, Tektronix, etc.

Instruments drivers available in the IDNet are classified based on two criteria:

  1. NI Certified and NI Supported whereby developed by NI R&D and maintained by NI R&D.
  2. Non-NI Certified and Non-NI Supported. This category of driver is provided "as is" and is not supported or maintained by National Instruments or a third party.

Below is the example for certified and non-certified driver respectively.

  • NI Certified and NI Supported driver.

  • Non-NI Certified and Non-NI Supported driver.

If you encountered issue with the NI Certified and NI Supported instrument drivers, you may reach out to instrument.drivers@emerson.com. This email box is managed by NI personnel responsible for managing the certified drivers and assisting on the issue related to it.

If the issues happen on a Non-NI Certified or Non-NI supported driver, you may reach out to your instrument manufacturer for further inquiry or submit request a new driver through this link. Below are few examples of the support channel for the manufacturer that you may use to request support.

  1. Tektronix Technical Support
