Simulate a PXI LCR Meter in Hardware Configuration Utility

Environment

Hardware

  • PXIe-4190

Software

  • Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)

In NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), it is not possible to simulate but NI PXI LCR Meter (PXIe-4190) can be simulated with NI Hardware Configuration Utility (HCU).

Note that a PXIe chassis need to be simulated (if there is no real hardware) to use it with the simulated PXIe-4190. The steps to create simulated chassis are same as below.

  • Open NI Hardware Configuration Utility (HCU) and select the plus sign (+) to add the hardware.

  • Open the "Simulated" tab, search for PXIe-4190 and select the device name, chassis and slot for the module.

  • Once the above steps are completed,  the PXIe-4190 simulated module will be added in the NI MAX and NI HCU. It is possible to test using Soft Front Panel (Which opens NI Instrument Studio)
