Connecting via Ethernet to ATE CC Rack Control Unit

One of the new features of the ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 rack is the Rack Control Unit (RCU). The RCU is responsible for communicating with and monitoring all aspects of the system.

The rack control unit (RCU) communicates with components and sensors using internal electrical buses and communicates with hosts using a network connection.

The RCU comes with two ethernet ports with different configurations depending on your needs: 

  • Port 1: This is the left port. Configured as DHCP mode.
  • Port 2: This is the right port. Configured as static IP. 

Connecting to Port 1:

  1. Since this port is configured for DHCP, connect this port to your office network via a Router or Hub. 

 

 

2. Do not connect your host computer to this port directly. 

 

 

Connecting to Port 2:

  1. Since this port is configured to use a static IP address, connect your host computer directly to this port. It’s static IP address is 10.1.1.20.
  2. Your host computer will need to be configured to have a static IP address as well and be on the same subnet (10.1.1.x).    

 

3. Do not connect Port 2 to an office network or to a host computer configured for DHCP.
