Compatibility Between NI GPIB-140B With Legacy NI GPIB Bus Extender

Issue Details

The NI GPIB-140A has been depreciated in 2022 and the recommended replacement for it is GPIB-140B. Can I use GPIB-140B with GPIB-140A and other NI legacy GPIB bus extender?

Solution

The GPIB-140B bus extender is compatible with both GPIB-140B and GPIB-140A bus extenders. However, it cannot communicate with GPIB-140, GPIB-140/2, or GPIB-140A/2 bus extenders due to the use of a different protocol for fiber-optic communication.
