ASAM XIL and VeriStand Steps for TestStand Not Showing in Insertion Palette

Issue Details

I have a system with TestStand 2024 Q4 and VeriStand 2025 Q1. I installed ASAM XIL TestStand Steps 2024 Q1 and VeriStand Steps for TestStand 2025 Q1 using the NI Package Manager, however, when I launch TestStand, I do not see palettes for either. I rebooted my PC, but the result is the same. What could be causing this issue? 

Solution

It is not possible to use these specific steps versions with TestStand 2024 and later. According to the resources ASAM XIL Steps for NI TestStand and VeriStand Steps for TestStand , the most recent supported version for them is TestStand 2023 Q4. To resolve this issue, install TestStand 2023 Q4, which is compatible with VeriStand Steps for TestStand 2025 Q1 and ASAM XIL TestStand Steps 2024 Q1. 

In 2024, TestStand deprecated the .NET Framework in favor of .NET Core. The .NET Framework was a key component for the ASAM XIL and VeriStand Steps. While we plan to support more recent versions of VeriStand in the future, there will be a temporary gap during which these components will not be released until we can add support for newer versions of TestStand.
