InstrumentStudio Taking DMM Data Slower Than Expected

Issue Details

When taking measurements in InstrumentStudio with my PXI(e) DMM with the smallest possible aperture time or the smallest resolution, the reading rate is approximately 25 S/s (with some variation). The expected rate is several orders of magnitude higher. Why is it so slow?

Solution

This is an implementation decision. InstrumentStudio uses a 40 ms update interval for DMMs and most other instrument panels to ensure each has enough processor access to remain individually responsive.

To obtain data at a faster rate, use LabVIEW or our Text-based APIs.
