Issue Details

In the PXI-8513/2 datasheet, I have observed channel-to-earth isolation. Does this mean CAN Hi and Lo of each port are isolated from AGND, DGND, and Chassis GND?

Solution

Yes, the CAN Hi and Lo at the DSUB-9 connector are isolated from other digital grounds. This means that the SMB connector (used for triggering purposes) references the digital ground, which is shared with the PXIe chassis ground. However, the CAN Bus signals (at the 9-pin DSUB connector) are isolated from the digital ground and chassis ground.
