Issue Details

Can I remotely access my NI USB device, such as the USB-4432, using a third-party USB Over IP Extender like the DigiAnywhere USB Plus?

Solution

NI does not support the use of third-party USB Over IP Extender and does not sell adapters.

 

There are cases where adapters work, but is not guaranteed and not recommended, especially with high throughput USB modules because the adapter may not have the throughput to support the data transfer. Additionally, drivers may not work with the adapter, causing USB modules to not be recognized by the system or behave incorrectly. 

 

You should consider using:

  1. NI USB extension cable.
  2. Remote desktop access with the NI USB device.
  3. Ideally, use NI Ethernet cDAQ device from the start.
