Is the PXIe-8398 compatible with PXI-1042Q, PXI-1062, and PXIe-1062Q?

Solution

The PXIe-8398 is not compatible with the PXI-1042Q and PXI-1062 chassis, as these chassis do not support PXI Express cards.

For the PXIe-1062Q, you can install the PXIe-8398 in the system slot, but there are some compatibility issues:

  • The PXIe-1062Q has PXI slots, which may limit the use of PXIe-8398 modules.
  • To fully utilize the PXIe-839x modules, a Gen 3 chassis with sufficient bandwidth is required (e.g., PXIe-1092, PXIe-1095, PXIe-1085 with 24GB/s bandwidth). Using the PXIe-8398 with the PXIe-1062Q could result in bandwidth limitations.

Additional Information

The PXIe-8398 is a remote controller and must be installed in a system slot.
The PXIe-8394 is a peripheral module and can be installed in a PXIe or hybrid slot.
