Issue Details

Every time I reboot a remote computer within my setup, the PXIe-8267 RAID module fails to mount the Windows®10 operative system. The issue happens particularly with a setup composed of a PXIe-1095 chassis, a PXIe-8398 to PXIe-8399 MXI chain and the PXIe-8267 RAID storage module that isn't recognized by the OS.

Solution

Within the operative system's BIOS, there is an option for the startup process setting with an option to be done fast. To enable this option the following steps are requested:

  1. Enter the Windows 10 BIOS by pressing F2 key during boot.
  2. In the Boot tab, select the boot priority option.
  3. Set the checked box to Fast to enable the quickest startup

This helped troubleshoot the issue since the error was associated with the timing of the boot of individual hardware. Given the fact that the system was fairly complex regarding hardware count, the booting process didn't took place in the expected time.

Additional Information

The issue was restrained to only the times when the setup was rebooted and not a boot from scratch. The timing settings reported to have detectability issues with the OS programs but not with NI related software, so it was determined that it was a timing issue, which was fixed by using a fast startup to account for the timing differences between the OS and NI software.
