Why Can't I Install Industrial Communication for EtherNet/IP on LinuxRT PXI/PXIe Systems?

Issue Details

I am installing software from NI MAX on a host PC to the PXI and PXIe controllers with NI Linux Real-Time. I can install NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT, but I cannot find EtherNet/IP on the list. Why is this happening? I am using LabVIEW 2020 and its drivers.

Solution

NI-Industrial Communications for EtherNet/IP 20.0 does not support PXI or PXIe devices with NI Linux Real-Time. Starting from EtherNet/IP 21.0, support for PXI and PXIe controllers with NI Linux Real-Time is available through .ipk file installation.
