Issue Details

Can we configure the rise time for NI SMU?

Solution

We cannot configure the rise time for NI SMU modules. However, we can control the rise time by configuring the Source:Transient Response - NI property in NI DCPower API. (Note: This property is not supported by all devices. Refer to Supported Properties by Device - NI for information about supported devices.)

Additional Information

Please note that the rise time and settling time are limited by device capabilities, output mode, voltage/current limit, and loading conditions. Taking PXIe-4139 as an example, in voltage mode (unloaded, current limit set to ≥20 μA and ≥20% of the selected current limit range), a 5 V step or smaller requires less than 70 μs. Please refer to the Transient Response and Settling Time specifications of the SMU for detailed information.
