NI CompactRIO Controller Only Discoverable in Safe Mode

Issue Details

I recently installed software on the NI CompactRIO, and now it is discoverable in MAX only if I enable Safe Mode. Formatting the device in MAX and a new installation of the software did not help. I restarted the whole system a few times, but it still does not start except in Safe Mode.

 

How do I resolve this issue?

Solution

This issue is occurring because the software installation might be corrupted. To resolve this issue follow these steps:

  1. Right-click>> Delete the cRIO in MAX
  2. Format the cRIO to Factory Default Configuration
  3. Install only the LabVIEW Real-time Module to the cRIO without any additional packages. The best practice is to do it without the software modules
  4. Install additional software step by step and check for errors
  5. Restart your system

You should see the cRIO behaving normally after these steps.
