Changing LabVIEW Application Web Server Port Number

The NI Application Web Server loads Web Service applications which are deployed using LabVIEW. There is certain situation where you need to use the Application Web Server default port 8080 with other application instead of Application Web Server. In this case, you can follow the steps in this article to change the default Application Web Server port number.

LabVIEW 2022 Q3 and above version

1.Open your web browser and go to localhost:3582 to open NI Web-based Configuration and Monitoring Utility page.

2.Click the setting icon at top right side of the page.

3.Select the Web Servers tab and change to appropriate port number. Then click Save to save the setting.

4.Restart the PC for the change to take effect.

LabVIEW 2021 and older version

1.Open your Internet Explorer or Edge in Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode and go to localhost:3582 to open NI Web-based Configuration and Monitoring Utility page.

2.Click the Web Server icon at left side of the page.

3.Select the Web Servers tab and change to appropriate port number. Then click Apply to save the setting.

4.Restart the PC for the change to take effect.

You can open Windows Command Prompt and execute netstat -ano | find ":<port number>" where <port number> is the port number to check. If the port number is use by any process, the process PID will be shown as below. In this example, the ApplicationWebServer.exe (PID 5908) port's number is changed from the default 8080 to 8081.

Note: Use tasklist /FI "PID eq <PID>" to check the PID process number where <PID> is the PID number.
