Serial Number of PXIe-8135 is not Shown in NI MAX

Issue Details

When comparing the PXIe-8135 and PXIe-8842 in NI MAX, the serial number of the PXIe-8842 is displayed, but the serial number of the PXIe-8135 is not. Why is this?

Solution

Serial number reporting is supported on controllers released from 2014 onwards (e.g., PXIe-8830mc, PXIe-8880, PXIe-8840 Quad-Core, PXIe-8861, PXIe-8881, PXIe-88x2). Controllers released before 2014 do not support serial number reporting. PXIe-8135 was released before 2014.
