LDF File Cannot be Saved in NI-XNET Database Editor

Issue Details

I am using NI XNET Database Editor to edit my LDF file. When I tried to save the file in the editor, I am forced to export it and I cannot save it. Is there any way to resolve this?

The database cannot be saved. But you can export the cluster instead. Otherwise, your changes will be discarded.

Note that the exported file might differ from the original one as the Database Editor might not support all format features.

Solution

This is expected behavior with the old NI XNET Database Editor located in C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-XNET\editor\XNetDbEd.exe directory. If you want to save in LDF or DBC file, you need to export it as a new file.

 

Alternatively, you can use the new NI XNET Database Editor located in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-XNET\editor\XnetDbEd.exe directory. You can save LDF file directly using this newer version of NI XNET Database Editor.
