Issue Details

Do the mioDAQs such as the USB-6421, USB-6423, USB-6451, and the USB-6453 Devices have Cold Junction Compensation?

Solution

All USB-6421, USB-6423, USB-6451, and USB-6453 devices are equipped with a temperature sensor located near the front panel connectors. This sensor can be utilized for Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) when the built-in CJC source is selected for a thermocouple virtual channel.

Some considerations to take into account are:

  • The temperature sensor is read-only when a task using the built-in CJC source is initiated. The value obtained at the start of the task is used throughout its duration.
  • Due to the single reading at the task’s start, the CJC accuracy is guaranteed only for relatively short acquisition periods.
