Issue Details

After upgrading DIAdem to 2023 Q2, I can successfully load my VIEW layout and data files and perform manipulations. However, when I try to change a setting in a 2D Axis System, I encounter the below error. After this, DIAdem either unexpectedly closes or hangs.

Solution

A bug introduced in DIAdem 2023 Q2, affecting versions up to DIAdem 2024 Q4, may cause an error when adjusting or configuring a 2D Axis System in the VIEW panel under certain conditions.

A fix is planned for DIAdem 2025 Q2. In the meantime, you can use the following workarounds to avoid the error:

• Adjust Legend Settings: Leave only one column/property in the legend settings of the problematic 2D Axis System.

• Use an Unaffected Version: Switch to a DIAdem version that is not affected by this issue (e.g., DIAdem 2022 Q2/Q4).
• DLL Swap Method: Swap the DIAView.dll file from a DIAdem 2022 Q2/Q4 installation into the problematic DIAdem 2024 Q2 version.  Caution: This workaround may cause other issues, as the DLL from one version may not be fully compatible with another. For instance, after replacing the DLL, clicking the "New Layout" button in the VIEW panel may produce the following error: Error:Object doesn't support this property or method: 'View.SetFileName'
  • The DLL is located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\<DIAdem version>.
