Linux RT Freeze When Using an Application With Embedded UI

Issue Details

My Linux RT controller freezes when I am using an application with enabled Embedded UI.

Solution

This is a known issue that appeared starting from 5.15 and later NILRT kernels which is fixed in the 2024Q4 release. For now, there are two workarounds:

  1. Downgrade the software and driver version to 2020.
  2. Upgrade the software and driver version to 2024Q4.
  3. Modify the "rtgroups" file on the target:
    • Download the fixed 'rtgroups' file that is attached at the bottom of this page
    • Copy on target to '/etc/rtgroups' replacing the installed file.
    • Reboot for setting to take effect.
