Issue Details

I have a USB3 Vision camera which I am using with the NI IMAQdx driver to acquire images. Recently I have upgraded my Microsoft Windows© version from Windows©10 to Windows©11, and I cannot change the camera driver by right clicking the camera like I used to for Windows 10.

For example, I have a Basler USB3 Vision camera. When using it with Windows 10, by right-clicking the camera I can select the driver I want:

However, when using Windows 11, the driver option is missing:

How can I solve this issue?

Solution

There is an existing bug addressing this OS specific issue, and is under investigation as per the VAS 2023Q1 version.
You can check if the bug is fixed by following the release notes of future NI software versions. The Bug number is 2864549.

See the below workaround showing how to change drivers in the Device Manager:

  1. Open the Windows Device Manager
  2. The camera should be visible under the manufacturer's tree. Select Update Driver

  4. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers,

After performing the above steps, the driver for the selected camera will change and you will be able to use it with NI software.
