Does Xeon 18-Core PXIe-8881 Support Linux Real-Time Operative System?

Issue Details

I want to select Xeon 18-Core PXIe-8881 with a pre-installed Linux Real-Time (RT) operative system (OS). When I select the controller OS as Linux RT, I find the maximum ProcessorCore is Xeon 8-core. Does the Xeon 18-Core PXIe-8881 support Linux Real-Time OS?

 

Solution

Yes, the Xeon 18-Core PXIe-8881 controller supports the Linux RT OS. Due to a lack of demand, NI Manufacturing has no plans to create an 18-Core PXIe-8881 that ships with Linux RT.  However, NI has tested and validated Linux RT support on the 18-Core controllers. You can purchase a Windows version and provision it to Linux RT.
