What Are The Different Self-Test Modes For PXIe-5842?

Issue Details

I am using PXIe-5842 and find that the NI MAX Self-Test option for PXIe-5842 offers two types of operations: Basic and Intermediate.

How do they differ?

Solution

Basic - it verifies device communication and hardware resource associations only

Intermediate accomplishes a few more things in addition to Basic:

  • Verifies Cable Connections

    • Ref Clk cable

    • TX & RX LO cables

    • RX ADC loop-back signal

    • RX/TX RF Detector

  • Locates Failures
