Error Unable to Check for Updates Occurred When Open NI-VISA Application in MacOS

Issue Details

I am using MacMINI with an M2 processor and the macOS is 14.5.
I have already installed NI VISA 23 version but, when I tried to open VISA application, error as shown below pop up:

Unable to check for updates
Please check your internet connection and try again

How to solve the issue?

Solution

​​​​​​NI-VISA binaries for M2 chip are intel based, they run under Rosetta, which is dynamic binary translator, to allow apps built for Intel chips, to run under Apple Silicon chips.
Therefore, to solve the issue, please make sure Rosetta is installed in the MacOS.

Additional Information

The NI-VISA 2023 Q3 is the last release for macOS 12.x version.
