Why My Linux RT Crash and Reboot Right After Startup When I Daisy Chain My System With 6 NI PXIe-5842?

Issue Details

I encounter this Hardware error from APEI Generic Hardware Error Source when I turn on my Linux RT controller in my daisy chained system with four NI PXIe-1095, slotted with 6 NI PXIe-5842 as the diagram below:

Solution

This is because Linux does not support filter driver to mask out surprise link down errors.
Perform the following action to resolve the error BIOS menu >> advanced>> PCI Configuration >> PCI system error reporting >> disable

  1. Navigate to BIOS menu.
  2. Go to Advanced.
  3. Go to PCI Configuration.
  4. Select PCI system error reporting.
  5. Disable PCI system error reporting.
