Issue Details

My NI VST is not showing up correctly in NI MAX or the Hardware Configuration Utility. It is not showing all of the normal fields in NI MAX (such as calibration information) and I do not have the ability to run self-tests or self-calibration on the module. Whenever I select the VST module from NI MAX, the window looks similar to this:

I have also noticed that when I try to access the device through the API or soft front panel, I get the error -1074097149 and/or -1073365999.

Solution

This issue is most likely due to a driver corruption during the installation process or an incompatibility between the RF software installed. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Check the versions of NI-RFSA, NI-RFSG and RFmx installed on your system from NI MAX or NI Package Manager. If any of the software versions do not match (e.g. if you have NI-RFSA 2024Q3 and RFmx 2024Q4), please upgrade the software so that all have matching versions.
  2. Repair the NI-RFSA and NI-RFSG driver through NI Package Manager. Following the repair process, reset the NI MAX configuration database
    1. Note - Resetting the NI MAX configuration database will delete all configuration data stored in MAX including NI-DAQmx Tasks, NI-DAQmx Global Virtual Channels, custom scales, and device configuration. However, it will not impact the hardware in any way. To avoid losing any configuration data that you have saved, you may back up this data as mentioned in the linked article.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please contact NI Technical Support through the Service Request Manager from your NI.com account profile.
