How to activate FlexLogger Lite?
When installing FlexLogger 2024 Q2 or later, you will not be prompted to activate the product at the end of the installation process, now you will be greeted by the "Let's Get Started" windows the first time you open FlexLogger after installation:

To activate FlexLogger Lite, simply select the "
Log in" option, and enter your ni.com credentials.
- The "Activate" option will try to activate the product using a purchased license. Refer to Activating Software if you purchased a license for FlexLogger.
- The "Start trial" option will start the evaluation period of the full FlexLogger experience.
The user must remain logged in to be able to use FlexLogger Lite.
What happens if I close the "Let's Get Started" window without choosing an option?
This will cause the entire FlexLogger application to close. You must select one of the available options.
Can I use FlexLogger Lite in an offline machine?
For activation, you will have to log in to your NI Account, which requires network connection. However, after the login process is done via the network and FlexLogger Lite becomes available, you can disconnect from the network and use FlexLogger Lite offline, as long as the user doesn't log out of FlexLogger, in that case a network connection will be needed again.
Will there be multiple .lc files for FlexLogger?
No, only one
.lc file located at
C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\License Manager\Licenses will be present, there are no separate license files for FlexLogger Lite or FlexLogger Full.
How can I switch from FlexLogger Lite to FlexLogger Full?
If you are currently using FlexLogger Lite, you can activate the Full experience by selecting
My FlexLogger>>Activate license...:

This will open the NI License Manager activation window, where you can select the method of activation. You can also activate FlexLogger by opening NI License Manager and use a
single-seat license or
connecting your computer to a NI Volume License Manager.
When using FlexLogger Lite, how can I know which features are not available?
Any option not available in FlexLogger Lite, will be shown in the user interface with a green ribbon symbol:

If you try clicking one of those options, you will see a "License Required" window with a brief description of what the feature does in FlexLogger Full:
- If you haven't started your free trial the "Start your free trial" option will be available in the displayed window. If the trail has already expired, a button to activate FlexLogger Full will be displayed instead.

Can I open projects that contain paid features in FlexLogger Lite?
You can open the projects, but you will not be able to edit or run them. FlexLogger Lite will display a banner mentioning that there are paid features being used, and you can see a list of them by clicking on the "View licensed features" button to the right of the banner:
