Error 74 When Compiling a LabVIEW Model for VeriStand

Issue Details

I am trying to convert my LabVIEW VIs into compiled .lvmodel or .lvmodelso files. The model generation fails with an error:

Code: 74
Source: Invoke Node in LVSV Set template project build destination.vi->LVSV Create DLL from subsystem.vi->LVSV Dialog.vi

Error occurred. No DLL produced.

Solution

This error indicates that there is an issue with the lvsv_template_project.lvproj template project file that LabVIEW uses. It might appear due to a corrupt installation of LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module.
To address the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2023\project\NI VeriStand\_LVSV Template Project.
  2. Open the lvsv_template_project.lvproj file and perform a mass compilation of the project.
  3. After completing the above steps, retry building the model.
  4. If the error persists, consider repairing your LabVIEW and LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module installation. (Note: The LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module was deprecated in 2023, meaning that the latest version available for download is 2022 Q3.
