I am installing the NI Hardware Configuration Utility from the Linux Device Drivers. During the installation process, it crashes and prompts me with an error. It generates a backtrace with an Unhandled exception: 0xe0434352 in 64-bit code (0x0000007b01313d).

The crash might be caused by a corrupt .wine-ni-hwcfg directory located under Home. To resolve the issue, follow the below steps:
  1. Ensure the Linux Device Drivers are compatible with your Operating System, you can refer to the Release Notes to find more details on the list of drivers supported on Linux OS, as well as the Readme for the individual driver.
  2. Search for the .wine-ni-hwcfg folder.
    1. It is typically located within the Home directory.
      1. If not visible, press Ctrl + H to show hidden files and folders. It could be hidden by default
  3. Delete the .wine-ni-hwcfg directory.
  4. Finally relaunch the NI Hardware Configuration Utility or execute sudo apt install ni-hwcfg-utility.
