CANopen Functions Palette is missing in LabVIEW

Issue Details

  • I have installed the NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen, but the CANopen Functions do not appear in the LabVIEW block diagram function palette.
  • I don't have the CANopen functions; my palettes are empty. How can I access the CANopen functions?
  • When I open a VI, it complains that I am missing VIs from CANopen.  Additionally, those functions in the VI show up as question marks on the block diagram.

Solution

1. Verify LabVIEW bitness Compatibility:
Before delving into troubleshooting, ensure that you are using LabVIEW 32-bit. Please note that NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen is currently unsupported in the 64-bit version of LabVIEW

2. Check NI Package Manager: 
please double-check the installation of NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen using NI Package Manager. Navigate to NI Package Manager > Installed and search for "Canopen" to confirm whether the CANopen drivers are correctly installed on your system.

3. Confirm Compatibility: 
Make sure that the version of NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen installed is compatible with your LabVIEW version. Refer to the NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen (32-bit) and LabVIEW Compatibility table for more details

4. Reinstallation via NI Package Manager:
If you've checked all prerequisites and issues persist, consider reinstalling NI-Industrial Communications for CANopen using NI Package Manager. Follow standard procedures for installing, updating, repairing, and removing NI software to ensure a smooth reinstallation process.
