Missing DataPlugins in Data Preparation Procedure Convert File Tab

Issue Details

  • When creating a Data Preparation Procedure (DPP) In DIAdem, only some of the DataPlugins I have installed are selectable from the Convert File >> Save with DataPlugin menu. Why is this?
  • Why can't I create a DPP output file from some of my DataPlugins? These DataPlugins are registered properly and can be used in SystemLink DataFinder Instances. They just aren't visible from the DPP configuration window.

Solution

The Convert File >> Save with DataPlugin menu in the Data Preparation Procedure (DPP) configuration window only allows users to convert a file using a DataPlugin that has write access. If a particular DataPlugin is not selectable in the DPP, review the following points:

  • If the DataPlugin was installed via the NI website, check the Direction information on the right-hand side of the download page.
    • The image below is an example illustrating that the "MTS DataPlugin for MTS-DAT" DataPlugin only has read access, so will be unavailable in a DPP.

  • If the DataPlugin was developed in-house, consider adding functionality so that the DataPlugin supports write actions.

Additional Information

The SystemLink DPP is designed for users to convert raw data files into NI's TDM or TDMS format so that all files can be standardised and easily indexed.
