Unable to Edit Step Settings Using TestStand 2023

Issue Details

An error occurred when hovering on the Step Setting.

An error had occurred. Save your work and restart the sequence editor.

Solution

This error occurs when the written expression calls an empty array as a parameter.
This issue is resolved in TestStand 2024 Q3. Check if the TestStand 2024 Q3 version is available and upgrade your TestStand version to solve the issue.  

Additional Information

If you are not able to update the TestStand version try one of these workarounds to avoid facing the error:
  • Utilize the previous version of TestStand
  • Use the #NoValidation function to prevent the evaluation of the expression.
