Issue Details

In the SLSC-12202 specifications, only the current limit for digital output is mentioned.
What about the current limit for its digital input?

Solution

Similar to digital output, the current protection is in the same path so that the channel will be tripped at 150mA as well. However, like typical digital input channels, the digital IO is at a high-impedance state when operating in input mode. Technically, if follow the product specs with the maximum digital input of 60V, the current flow into the module will be limited by the input impedance and never hit the 150 mA limit. It will need a very high voltage to source high current to the digital input channel, but the overvoltage protection circuits will limit the input voltage.
