I Cannot Install the NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit 2021 to my PharLap PXI

Issue Details

I have the 2021 NI software stack installed on my computer, including the NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit. When I try to setup my PXI Controller with PharLap in NI MAX, the dropdown menu for the Toolkit only offers older versions. If I select an older version, and try to install them, I get an error, that they are not compatible with LabVIEW Real-Time 2021.

How can I deploy the Sound and Vibration Toolkit 2021 to my PharLap PXI?

Solution

This is an known issue, and NI lists it with the bug number 2629132.

To be able to deploy the Sound and Vibration Toolkit, follow these steps:
  1. Close NI MAX.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\RT Images\Sound and Vibration\21.5
  3. Rename oder delete install.cdf
  4. Download the install.cdf file attached to this KB, and place it in the folger mentioned above.
  5. Start NI MAX again.
Now you will be able to select and deploy version 2021 of the NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit.
